They Built the Republic. Our Mission is to Uphold It.

Every startup you launch, every product you ship, every risk you take as a founder exists because more than 1.1 million Americans have paid for that freedom with their lives. Today we remember the price.

The Constitutional Contract

The First Amendment’s speech and assembly clauses let you pitch investors without state approval. The Fifth Amendment’s property protections mean the government can’t seize your company on a whim. The Fourteenth Amendment’s due process guarantee makes contracts enforceable in court. These aren’t civics class abstractions—they’re the legal foundation of every term sheet you sign, every patent you file, every deal you close.

Memorial Day honors those who died defending the system that lets you build without asking a king’s permission. They didn’t die for a flag. They died for a Constitution that guarantees you can own what you create, speak what you believe, and compete in a marketplace where merit beats royal favor.

The Normandy Standard

June 6, 1944. D-Day. The 101st Airborne dropped behind enemy lines in darkness. The 1st Infantry Division—the Big Red One—stormed Omaha Beach into German machine gun fire. By midnight, more than 2,500 Americans were dead. They breached Hitler’s Atlantic Wall knowing most wouldn’t live to see Paris liberated.

That’s founder-grade risk-taking. No guaranteed outcome. No safety net. Just a mission worth dying for. They bet their lives on a Republic that promised nothing but the freedom to try. Every great American company—Ford, IBM, Apple, SpaceX—was built on that same ethos: attempt the impossible, accept the cost, deliver the result.

The Builder’s Obligation

The way we honor the fallen isn’t performative gratitude. It’s using the freedom they bought. Build companies that create jobs for your neighbors. Build products that solve real problems for real people. Build wealth that strengthens families and communities. Don’t waste the Republic they died for on comfort, mediocrity, or safe bets.

They paid the ultimate price so you could take risks without paying it. That’s the deal. Don’t dishonor it by playing small.

They served. They fell. We build. That’s the deal.
