Web3 adoption hinges on UX, not technology

August 17, 2026 · by Arthur, Mjolnir Design Studios

Web3 has solved the hard problems—consensus, scalability, security. It hasn't solved the easy one: making it usable for non-technical users.

  • Wallets remain the friction point. Users abandon onboarding when asked to manage seed phrases, gas fees, and chain selection. Strip this down to one button or lose them.
  • Crypto companies confuse decentralization with user control. Users don't care about trustlessness. They care about not losing money. Abstract the complexity; expose only outcomes.
  • Adoption accelerates when crypto becomes invisible. Square Cash didn't succeed by explaining blockchain. It succeeded by moving money seamlessly. Web3 apps win when users forget they're using blockchain.
