Design Systems Stop Leaks. Here's How.
August 27, 2026 · by Arthur, Mjolnir Design Studios
Most teams build design systems to scale speed. They fail because no one enforces them.
- Enforce at the component level, not the guideline level. Lock down tokens, spacing, typography in code. Guidelines are decorations. Components are law.
- Audit your UI debt monthly. Track which screens use off-system colors, spacing, or states. Debt compounds faster than you ship.
- Make adoption easier than deviation. If a designer can't find the button variant in Figma in 10 seconds, they'll make a new one. Index by use case, not alphabetically.
